Baking with Beer! A day with Emily Ellyn

Mother’s Day weekend, I made the trek on over to Winter Park to spend the day with my bestie and my mom. We had a great time eating lunch and doing a little shopping, then headed over to:

Emily Ellyn (of Food Network fame) was hosting a “Baking With Beer” class, and we were all excited to meet Emily and have fun learning about using beer in baking.

We had no idea what to expect, other than having an awesome time. It was quite the experience, and SO much fun. We got to try all of the beers used in the recipes, try all of the foods that were demonstrated in class, enjoy spritzers and just have a great time. I know my mom was skeptical at first, since she’s been cooking for decades, and was sure she knew it all! Boy was she wrong, she had SUCH a good time and learned a lot of new techniques and got some great ideas.

I couldn’t pick a favorite thing from the day, everyone had a great day. My awesome bestie asked Emily if she could pose with one of my lemon blueberry cupcakes! Thank goodness I have her, since I wouldn’t have had the nerve : )

And boy did she! I *love* this photo!

The best part? While posing, she started unwrapping the cupcake and tasted it! A girl couldn’t ask for more!

We’ve been such busy bees in the kitchen. New flavors, new type of events, busy event schedule, pfew!

Look for us at events in places such as Bearss Groves, The Azalea Market in St. Petersburg, Odessa Organic Market and Broadstone Citrus Village Apartments, and more!

New flavors we’ve been premiering and experimenting on include the Holy Cannoli, The Drunk Bride, Mango Tango and Chocolate Merlot.

Baby Shower

One thing that ladies love? other than cupcakes? Babies. So that makes cupcakes at a baby shower the best combination ever, right?

We had the privilege and pleasure of making the cupcakes and cake for a dear long time friend’s baby shower. What a fun time!

We started out with the baby shower theme colors: pink and greens. Then we added in the new mom’s favorite flavors. So we whipped up a vanilla cake with raspberry filling with raspberry frosting for the pink, then a vanilla cake with key lime curd filling and a key lime buttercream frosting.

We then made a small cake with rosette style and buttercream roses on top. Filled it with some raspberry filling – and we have a delicious treat for the mom!

HUGE Food Truck Rally :: This Sunday!

Cupping Cakes will be out selling delicious cupcakes! Come on out to The Gathering Place Wood-Fired Oven on this Sunday, December 9th from 4pm until 8pm.

It will be an indoor and outdoor event for the whole family! There will be OVER TWENTY food trucks set up out in the parking lot, along with other vendors.There will be live music, as well as food and drink specials in the restaurant. It’s going to be a great time! You can’t miss it!

I’m a big fan of the restaurant, and last month’s mini food truck rally was a great time. I highly advise checking this out Sunday evening. Have a little fun before returning to work!

New Event! Mini Food Truck Rally @ The Gathering Place

Cupping Cakes will be out selling delicious cupcakes! Come on out to The Gathering Place Wood-Fired Oven on this Sunday, November 11th from 5pm until 8:30pm.

It will be an indoor and outdoor event for the whole family! There will be 3-5 food trucks set up out in the parking lot, along with other vendors. Also, games will be set up for the whole family, as well as some prizes, giveaways and raffles etc. There will be live music, as well as food and drink specials in the restaurant. It’s going to be a great time! You can’t miss it!

New Event! Mini Food Truck Rally @ Bearss Groves

Cupping Cakes will be at Bearss Groves next Saturday, October 27th from 1pm – 5pm.

Thanks goes out to Generation Food Truck for organizing the event! Come out and enjoy food from Renny’s Oki Doki, Not Your Ordinary Food Truck, Hott Mess and 3 Suns Organic. Then polish off all of that deliciousness with a cupcake!

We will have some Halloween themed cupcakes and of course some flavors using the amazing produce from Bearss Groves.
